Good-Bye Olberman-Matthews

From the NYT:

MSNBC tried a bold experiment this year by putting two politically incendiary hosts, Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews, in the anchor chair to lead the cable news channel’s coverage of the election.

That experiment appears to be over.

After months of accusations of political bias and simmering animosity between MSNBC and its parent network NBC, the channel decided over the weekend that the NBC News correspondent and MSNBC host David Gregory would anchor news coverage of the coming debates and election night. Mr. Olbermann and Mr. Matthews will remain as analysts during the coverage.

As welcome a step as that is, it's like they're replacing cigarettes with cigars. Who thinks David Gregory is objective? He maybe capable of covering something objectivly, but i'm sure that he's under no great pressure to do so following that two-man act.

Think of it like this, it would be as if Fox News turned over it's election coverage anchor spot to Hannity and... er... Hannity.

And notice how in that whole blurb, they don't use the words, "Liberal," or even "Progressive," or "Democrat". That's strange, huh?
