The cover of Newsweek recently announced that it’s the end of the era of Thatcher. The Washington Post followed suit. These headlines suggest a very significant confusion about what, precisely, Margaret Thatcher stood for. They are an injustice to her legacy.

This column goes on to explain why the 'End of the Thatcher Era' are false. It does this by defending Thatcher's economic policies. But It's my belief that while the Thatcher Era referred to in the original article are based largely on the impact and causes of the financial crisis (which are wrong to be sure), the PMJ post misses the point. It's highly favorable to them to declare the Thatcher Era over, when there's a certain Hockey Mom rising to fill her shoes.
